The genre of this film is action. This shot is from the film Spiderman. Spiderman is a fictional character first appearing in comic books published by Marvel comics. Spiderman was created by writer-editor Stan lee and artist Steve Ditko.
This particular shot is a Medium shot showing the two main characters Spiderman and the Green Goblin (Tobey Maguire and Willem Dafoe). It shows Spiderman as the good guy and the Green Goblin as the bad guy because of the the body language and the colour of the costumes they are wearing. They also follow the action conventions of having a 'good guy' who saves the world and a 'bad guy' who ends up dead or beaten. In this particular snapshot both characters look serious and angry this idea is connoted by their body languages. Their body languages connote action and power.


The genre of this film is Science Fiction. This shot is from the film Star Wars. Star Wars was written and directed by George Lucas. Ground-breaking in its use of special effects, this Star Wars movie is one of the most successful films of all time and is generally considered one of the most influential as well.
This shot is a Medium showing the main character (Liam Neeson). It shows the character as being the star of the show with all the attention on him. The follows the Sci Fi conventions of having 'good guys' who try to save the world and 'bad guys' who try to stop them. Here he looks serious and powerful and this idea is connoted by the huge lightsaver that he is carrying, this connotes action and danger something that there is a lot of in this movie.

This shot is from the film Scary Movie. Scary Movie is a 2000 film directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans. It is an American dark comedy which parodies the horror and mystery genres.



Step Up 2 the Streets is the 2008 sequel to Step Up from Touchstone Pictures. The movie was directed by Jon Chu, and choreographed by Jamal Sims. This shot shows the two main characters as being the stars of the show with all the attention on them. The film follows the romance conventions of having two characters who start as enemies, then as bestfriends and then end up falling in love. Here they look serious this idea is connoted by their facial expressions and their eye contact.

In the film they wear colourful, normal clothes to connote the idea of everyday life or being normal. The reason why they wear these type of clothes is to give the audience an idea of what the movie could or would be about.




The genre of this film is horror. The Ring is a 2002 American remake of the 1998 Japanese horror film of the same name (also known as Ringu). It was directed by Gore Verbinski and starred Naomi Watts and Martin Henderson. This particular shot shows the two main characters (Niaomi Watts and Martin Henderson). This horror film follows the horror conventions of having people being attacked by something or someone. In this shot they look terrified and shocked this idea is connoted by their facial expressions and body language. This film earned an amazing $48 million.





The genre of this film is fantasy. Saawariya (Beloved) is a Hindi film based on Fyodor Dostoevsky's, short story known as 'White Nights', the film was released by Sony Pictures Entertainment on November 9, 2007 and has become the first Indian movie to be co-produced and distributed by a Hollywood production house. It is the second Bollywood movie to be released on Blu Ray. The stars are Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor.

This snap shot shows one of the main character Sonam Kapoor, who is wearing a velvet black dress and scarf and the balcony she is standing on is bright green with flashing lights on them. This doesn't seem realistic, it shows someones fantasy or dream.
